So I been doing hair for like 12 years now and honestly curly pixie cuts are having such a moment. Clients come in all the time wanting to chop everything off and rock their natural texture, I’m totally here for it.
Curly pixies are way more versatile then people think – you can go super edgy or keep it soft. Here’s 25 of my favorite curly pixie ideas I either done myself or seen and been like wow that’s fire.
Tidy Curly Pixie With Large Curls

This is for my girls with looser curl patterns like 3A or 3B types. The curls are bigger and more defined and the whole cut is kept really tidy and shaped. Nothings too wild or going in crazy directions. It’s controlled but still has all that gorgeous curl texture showing through.
Tapered Curly Pixie With Soft Sideburns

This ones perfect if you want something polished but still natural looking. The taper keeps stuff clean around the sides and back. Sideburns add this really soft feminine touch that frames your face without being harsh. Tighter curl patterns work great because the shorter sides let your curls pop on top.
Cropped Curls With Sculpted Edges

Super clean super sharp – this is for the girl who wants her curls but also wants that crisp almost architectural look. The edges are really defined with clean lines around the hairline and ears. I use a trimmer to get those edges just right usually. It gives you that fresh out the barber chair vibe that lasts.
Curly Pixie With Long Side-Swept Fringe

This is one of my personal favorites to do cause it’s so flattering on pretty much everyone. You keep more length in the front so you can sweep it to one side. Great if your not ready to fully commit to super short bangs. The side swept fringe softens everything, gives you something to play with when styling.
Undercut Pixie With Springy Coils on Top

Okay this ones bold but SO good. The undercut gives you that edgy contrast where the sides and back are buzzed pretty short then you got all this amazing texture and volume sitting on top. Your coils get to be the main event here. Honestly the grow out on this style is actually really cute too.
Defined Ringlets With Temple Fade

The temple fade is such a cool detail that takes a regular curly pixie to the next level. You fade out just at the temples which creates this really nice shape. Draws attention to your curls on top. Your ringlets stay defined and bouncy while the fade keeps everything looking super intentional.
Short Curls With Piecey Baby Bangs

Baby bangs on curly hair hit different I swear. They’re cut pretty short across the forehead but keep that texture so they’re not like super blunt or straight across. The piecey part means there not all uniform – some curls are longer than others which keeps it looking natural.
Tousled Micro Curls With Airy Volume

If you got those really tight tiny curls this cut is literally made for you. Its all about letting your natural texture do its thing with lots of layers to create that airy cloudlike volume. I tell people this ones low maintenance because you kinda just scrunch and go. The tousled look is the whole point.
Layered Curls With Subtle Nape Taper

Layering is so important for curly pixies or else you end up with like a triangle situation happening. This cut has tons of layers throughout to remove bulk and create movement plus a subtle taper at the nape that keeps the back from getting heavy. Its a really wearable everyday style.
Curly Pixie Bob Hybrid With Bounce

Another hybrid situation that’s perfect if your transitioning. This one keeps enough length that it still kinda reads as a bob from certain angles but it’s got that pixie attitude. The bounce comes from good layering and letting your curls spring up naturally instead of weighing them down.
Edgy Curl Pixie With Messy Texture

Sometimes you don’t want it to look too done and that’s where this comes in. The whole point is that messy lived in texture where curls are going kinda wherever they want. Its edgy because it looks a little rebellious and undone but in a cool way not a I just rolled out of bed way.
Curly Top With Shaved Design Sides

If you really wanna make a statement add some shaved designs to the sides. The top stays curly and full of texture while the sides are buzzed and you can add whatever design you want. Lines geometric shapes whatever. I have done some really cool ones and people always get so many compliments.
Tight Pixie With Soft Edges

This is cropped pretty close all around but the edges are softened and textured so its not like super severe or masculine. It works really well for tight curl patterns because even though its short your curls still show through. The soft edges keep it looking delicate.
Loose Wavy Pixie With Beachy Feel

For my wavy haired girlies who want that effortless beachy vibe. The waves are loose and kind of undone giving you that vacation hair energy. Its probably the most low maintenance option on this list because wavy hair in a pixie is basically wash and go most days.
Asymmetric Curly Pixie With Deep Part

Asymmetry is your friend if you want something that looks really current and fashion forward. One side is noticeably longer than the other and the deep side part really emphasizes that difference. Its dramatic without being like costume y you know.
Curly Pixie Shag With Wispy Fringe

Shags are back in a major way and they work so good with curls. Lots of choppy layers throughout and a wispy fringe that’s not too heavy or blunt. The whole thing has that 70s inspired rock and roll kind of energy but modernized.
Wet-Look Curls With Slicked Sides

This is a styling technique as much as its a cut but it creates such a vibe. You use gel or mousse to get that wet glossy look on your curls and slick down the sides really tight. Its sleek and editorial looking. Definitely reads as more dressed up than some of the other options.
Coily Pixie With Tapered Back and Sides

For my coily haired beauties this cut is literally so flattering. The taper on the back and sides keeps everything shaped and clean while your coils get to do their thing on top. It shows off your natural texture while still being really polished.
Curly Faux Hawk Pixie, High Crown

This ones all about height and drama at the crown. The sides are cut shorter and the middle section is left longer and styled upward to create that faux hawk shape. When you got curls the texture makes it look even more dramatic and eye catching without having to use a ton of product.
Short Ringlets With Face-Framing Tendrils

Those little face framing pieces make such a difference in how flattering a cut is. You keep some ringlets longer around the face while the rest is cropped short. It draws attention to your features and softens the overall look. Really romantic and pretty.
Pixie With Defined Curls and Root Lift

Root lift is key for making sure your curls don’t fall flat especially when they’re short. This cut incorporates layers and technique to make sure you got volume at the roots and the curls themselves are really defined and separated. Its bouncy and full of life.
Curly Pixie With Underlayer Highlights

Adding color to a curly pixie is chefs kiss because it shows off the dimension so well. Underlayer highlights peek through when your curls move and catch the light. You don’t need a ton of color to make an impact just some strategic placement underneath where your natural color is on top.
Voluminous Curls With Rounded Silhouette

This is about creating a really beautiful rounded shape that’s feminine and soft. The curls are layered to build volume evenly all around your head creating almost like a halo effect. Its full and lush without being like too big or uncontrolled.
Pixie Bob With Curly Crown Lift

This is like the in between cut when you want pixie vibes but aren’t ready to go super short. Its basically a really short bob with tons of volume at the crown so you get that lifted almost mohawk ish silhouette but it’s still soft and curly. Great for building confidence before going shorter.
Curly Pixie With Grown-Out Fringe Vibes

Sometimes the grow out phase is actually the best phase. This cut embraces that slightly longer fringe thats falling into your eyes a bit giving you that cool low key vibe. It looks effortless and a little undone. Which honestly reads as way more modern than something that’s too precise.
