Captivating Honey Hair Color Styles That Beat Basic Blonde

by Nisha Desai

Honey hair is everywhere today! I’m sure you’ve seen it all over social media too. I have been doing so many honey hair jobs at the salon recently, and I really like them; they’re really pretty on everybody.

There are lots of ways to do honey hair color. Honey hair color is basically just warm golden blonde tones that resemble actual honey. They also create that beautiful golden amber glow. The best thing is it works whether you want a light honey highlight job or a full honey hair color transformation. Some honey hair jobs look like caramel, while others look like gold, and there are even some that look like they have a little bit of copper. Here are some awesome different honey hair styles that I am absolutely loving!

1. Honey Dream Balayage

1 Caramel_Honey_Blonde_Balayage_Long_Wavy_pin

I would say this is the “safe” option. The caramel ribboning in this balayage is gorgeous! And the fact that it’s done with long waves adds an extra level of beauty to it. Because balayage does not create harsh lines (which I really dislike) and grows out very nicely (so you will not be at the salon every month), I recommend this honey color job for anybody who is looking for a low-maintenance look. I really enjoy this honey color job for my clients who want something simple.

2. Copper Kiss Balayage

Now this is a bold honey blonde color! There is a lot of warmth in this copper honey blonde balayage, and the copper tones really pop in the sun light, and honestly, it glows! I would say medium-length hair is the perfect length for this honey blonde balayage because you can really see the waves in the hair. It’s edgy yet still soft and pretty – you know what I mean? My clients with warmer skin tones always look fabulous with this honey color job.

3. Sunset Copper Ombre

Ombré is back in fashion again! This sunset copper honey ombre is from copper roots to honey ends and it’s stunning. The longer the hair, the better you can see the ombre color transition, which is cool. It’s bold yet not too bold. The color of this ombre transitions smoothly from copper to honey, making it a beautiful honey color job.

4. Honey Natural Bob

Okay so I LOVE this bob! The honey blonde highlights are so subtle. This honey color job works perfectly for straight hair because you can really see the individual highlights. If you are afraid to go too light with your hair, I recommend this honey color job as it is a great option for you. This is the type of honey color job that makes a statement without being too extreme.

5. Golden Hour Butterfly Cut

This is the first thing I think of when someone mentions honey blonde hair! Long blonde hair cut in butterfly hairstyle with golden honey tones, looks like your hair is glowing or something. Most of the balayage is in the ends and mid-lengths. It looks natural, like you spent all summer outside. Very pretty and classic-looking.

6. Rooted Golden Balayage

Perfect for those who do not want to visit the salon every few weeks! With this honey color job, you can have those dark roots with golden honey balayage, and therefore you won’t need to visit the salon as often. I think the contrast is actually really good. It makes the honey parts look even brighter. It looks on purpose too, not grown-out ugly.

7. Medium Golden Waves

Sometimes simplicity is the best policy! These golden honey colored waves are simply beautiful! The color is consistent throughout which I prefer. It’s polished and put-together. A great choice for work or if you want a clean and easy-to-style hair every day.

8. Classic Honey Bronde Balayage

This is a perfect example of what honey blonde balayage should look like! The placement of the balayage is excellent. The honey-colored ribbons are painted through the waves perfectly. The length of this honey color job flatters most people too, it’s long enough to be attractive but not unmanageable.

9. Sleek Honey Highlights Balayage

9 Honey_Blonde_Golden_Balayage_Long_Straight_pin

Why can’t honey hair color only be done on wavy hair?! Straight hair brings out the color differently. You can see every single tone when your hair is sleek like this. I find it really cool how you can see the color more clearly. It’s mesmerizing.

10. Soft Golden Medium Waves

Oh my goodness, these golden honey waves are so romantic! The honey blonde balayage is blended into the hair so smooth. There are no harsh lines anywhere; it’s glowing hair basically. This honey color job photographs really well too if you care about that. The color of the honey balayage blends with the waves in such a pretty way.

11. Honey Blonde Lob

A lob is still one of my favorite hairstyles ever! This honey blonde lob is so modern. A shoulder length hairstyle is very versatile for styling. You can wear your hair straight or add texture depending on what you want to do. It’s fresh and trendy.

12. Honey Chunky Highlight Flow

12 Honey_Blonde_Ombre_Long_Straight_pin

Wow, this ombre is so smooth! The transition is so gradual that you almost can’t see where it changes. It’s a gradual transition from darker roots to honey blonde ends. On long, straight hair, you can really appreciate how the color changes. It’s like art.

13. Bronde Honey Balayage

13 Honey_Bronde_Balayage_Long_Wavy_pin

Bronde is a mix of brown and blonde, and I think it’s underrated! This bronze honey balayage gives a warmness to the brown base with honey blonde pieces mixed in. This is a great choice for anyone who is a naturally brunette but wants lighter hair. You don’t have to commit to having completely blonde hair, which is nice.

14. Honey Bronze Face Framing Layers

Another bronde color, but this time on straighter hair. The honey blonde tones added to the brown base give it a richness and dimensionality. This is a great choice for a professional setting because it’s polished but still interesting. It’s not boring at all.

15. Layered Caramel Honey

I love these layers! Caramel and honey balayage really pop with layered hair! Every layer catches the light in a different way which is cool. The color of this honey blonde balayage is warm and inviting looking. The waves add softness and a sense of touchability to it too.

16. Warm Caramel Balayage

16 Honey_Brown_Caramel_Balayage_Long_Wavy_pin

As far as I am concerned, this is what fall hair looks like! Warm honey brown and caramel tones are so cozy. The balayage is placed around the face and through the lengths of the hair. I think this honey blonde balayage flatters most faces. I get asked by clients all the time for this warm dimensional color.

17. Medium Caramel Honey

It looks a little different than the previous one! Same color family but on medium-length hair. I think the honey brown with caramel balayage has a playful vibe to it at this length. The waves add movement to the color. The color comes alive when you walk around or move your head.

18. Multi-Toned Honey

And finally, another honey color job that has multiple dimensions to it! Honey brown, caramel, and blonde all together in this honey color job. I think this multi-tonal honey blonde is complex but not busy. It’s just very rich and dimensional. This type of honey color job requires skill to execute correctly. When it’s executed correctly though, WOW it’s beautiful!

19. Natural Dirty Blonde Golden Balayage

When viewed from the side, you can really see how the hair frames the face! The golden honey balayage with the honey brown base creates nice contrast. Side profiles don’t lie about the placement of the color. This is what correct placement of the color looks like.

20. Honey Highlights with Layers

Long layers with honey brown and golden blonde highlights are everything! The highlights are strategically placed through the layers of the hair. This creates maximum dimension and movement. More high maintenance, but I personally think it’s worth it.

21. Copper Honey Texture Bob

Short hair girls, take note! This wavy copper honey bob has so much personality! The short length of the hair makes the copper honey tones more intense. Really eye-catching. And let’s be honest, bobs are just fun to play with and style in different ways.

22. Stunning Wavy Golden Honey

Occasionally you need to admire the back of the hair! This golden honey balayage looks just as good from behind. The color is distributed evenly throughout. It creates a really lush full-looking effect. Your hair should look good from every angle – that’s important.

23. Fine Hair Golden Honey

Fine hair folks, listen up! I think this golden honey balayage on medium length hair is a great choice for fine-haired individuals. The lighter honey tones actually make fine hair look thicker. It’s about adding dimension and movement to your hair. Adding lighter pieces helps create both of those things.

24. Sandy Honey Balayage

24 blonde Honey_Balayage_Ombre_Long sandy_pin

I think this sandy honey blonde ombre gives off major beachy vibes! The neutral toned honey color is perfect for someone with cooler skin tones. It’s still warm, but not as golden as some other options. It’s kind of like that perfect sand color you find at the beach.

25. Natural Honey Brown

25 blonde natura; Honey_Brown_Golden_Medium_Long_pin

For anyone looking for something natural-looking, here it is! Honey brown with subtle golden tones, looks like it could be your natural hair color. But, of course, it’s not. It’s better than that! It’s understated, yet still has that warmth. The dimension in honey colors is what makes them pretty.

26. Face-Framing Honey Layers

26 Blonde_honey Highlights_Long_Straight face layers_pin

I love how the honey highlights frame the face! The honey highlights in the layers of the hair brighten up the entire look. I use this technique on clients all the time because it works. It draws attention to the face in a positive way.

27. Balayage in Caramel Honey

27 Caramel_Brown_Honey_Balayage_Medium_Length_Wavy_pin

That side part looks amazing! Caramel honey balayage with a side part and soft waves. The color has so much depth and warmth. The medium length of this hairstyle is super easy to manage for daily use. It’s sophisticated, but still accessible.

28. Bronde Caramel-toned Honey

28 Caramel_Brown_Honey_Balayage_Medium_Length_Wavy_Side_View_pin

Another cute view of caramel honey balayage. You can see how the color was painted through the hair. It creates a smooth blend from the brown to the honey. A good color looks good from every angle – that’s what we’re always striving for.
