So chocolate cherry brown hair is like my favorite thing right now. It usually starts regaining momentum around fall time and into winter, but honestly, there is no right or wrong time to add a bit of red undertone to your hair!
I’ve been doing hair for over 10 years and this color just makes everyone look good and can be really flattering. It’s brown but with cherry tones mixed in. Not too red, not too boring brown either.
Let me show you all the different ways you can do it!
1. Deep Chocolate Cherry

This one is really dark. Almost black but not quite. The cherry shows up when light hits it and it’s so pretty. I think it works on literally everyone? Super rich looking and you don’t have to worry about it being too loud for work or whatever.
2. Dark Brown Base with Cherry Wine Ribbons

Your hair stays mostly dark brown here. Then we add these cherry wine streaks in some spots. I like putting them spaced out a bit to create contrast. That way you see the color but it’s not everywhere, you know?
3. Subtle Dimensional Cherry Glaze

Okay this is perfect if you’re scared of very bold color. It’s just a glaze on top. Gives you a little cherry shimmer. When it fades out it looks fine too so that’s nice (and it already looks a bit faded from the start, but like, on purpose).
4. Warm Chocolate Cherry

Think milk chocolate. Now add cherries. That’s this color! It’s softer than the cool versions and if your skin has warm tones this will look amazing on you.
5. Burgundy Glaze Over Straight Lob

Lobs are so cute right now! When you put this burgundy cherry glaze on straight hair, wow. The shine shows off every bit of color. I love how the lob length hits right at your shoulders and the color just looks expensive.
6. Black Cherry with Face Framing Layers

This is darker. Sultrier. Almost black with cherry mixed in there. The layers around your face are important because that’s where people see the cherry color catch the light the most due to all the movement. Edgy but like classy edgy.
7. Cherry-Kissed Ends on Medium Brown Waves

You don’t have to do your whole head! Just put cherry on the ends or ribbons around the crown and keep the rest dark brown. Super easy and if you hate it just cut it off later, no big deal.
8. Straight Glossy Hair in Dark Cherry Brown

The shine is everything here. You need really healthy hair for this to look right. Dark cherry brown but super shiny and smooth. Get a good gloss treatment and use hair masks like twice a week.
9. Dark Brunette to Cherry Ends

It’s kind of like ombre? Starts dark at the roots. Gets more cherry toward the bottom but in such a subtle way, you don’t even notice when it happens. You don’t have to come in for touch ups as much which is great.
10. Sleek Bob in Velvet Cherry Brown

Bobs are everywhere lately! This velvet cherry brown color is so pretty on this cute angled bob. The color looks kind of soft and expensive? Not super shiny but not flat either, just perfecttt.
11. Black Cherry Hair Color

Okay this is the most dramatic shade for sure. It looks black cherry. But then you see it in the sun and BAM there’s all this cherry redness comes out. Really bold, really pretty, maybe not for everyone but I love it.
12. Cinnamon-Chocolate Base with Cherry Pops

I love to do this one for my fiery natural copper girlies! The base color is warm like cinnamon/copper brown. Then you add bright cherry tone over it. It’s fun, a bit out there but not crazy and so wamr and flattering for pale or freckled skin.
13. Cherry Melt on Long Waves

Long wavy hair is the best for color melts. Starts one color at top, melts into cherry going down. The waves make it look so soft and romantic, I probably don’t do it justice explaining it but it’s beautiful in daylight!
14. Cool Brown Softened with Muted Cherry Tones

Some people have cool skin tones right? This is for them. Cool brown with dusty cherry, nothing too warm or bright. Just works really well if you’re more cool-toned.
15. Brunette with Cherry-Tinted Sheen

This is really subtle but stunninggg change for dark brunette hair. Like you can barely tell there’s cherry in there. Your hair just glows a little bit cherry when the light hits. Good if you want mysterious looking hair that changes color depending on light.
16. Lived-In Chocolate with Rosy Cherry Haze

I’m obsessed! It looks like you’ve had it forever but in a good way. Chocolate brown with rosy cherry all through it. So easy to take care of and the rosy part is just really pretty and soft looking.
17. Cherry Cola with Cool Undertones

You know cherry coke? That’s this color basically. It’s dark, has cool tones, almost a little blue mixed with cherry red. Looks edgy but you can still wear it every day and not feel weird.
18. Mocha Brown with Berry-Cherry Tone

This has purple berry vibes with the cherry. Sounds strange but trust me it’s gorgeous! The mocha brown keeps it from being too purple. Really nice if you want something a little different.
19. Sultry Cherry Brown with Red Undertones

This one is a tiiiny bit more red than the others. The cherry brown has strong red underneath. Makes it look really rich. Bold but it could almost pass as natural if you squint?
20. Curly Cherry Brown Hair

Curly hair makes this color look insane in the best way. All those curls catch light differently so you see the cherry and chocolate everywhere. Adds so much dimension. Just looks amazing on natural texture.
21. Dark Cocoa with Velvet Merlot Undertone

Sounds fancy I know! It’s really dark cocoa brown with deep wine undertones in it. Very sophisticated. The merlot adds richness but doesn’t scream at you, it’s subtle.
22. Cherry Plum Blend

This goes into edgy plum territory a little bit. You get chocolate cherry plus some plum tones mixed in. Really unique and you can see all the different colors especially if your hair is longer.
23. Subtle Chocolate Cherry Shade

Sometimes you want subtle and that’s okay! This is chocolate cherry all over but nothing dramatic. Good for testing it out. Works for office jobs. Still pretty though, still has dimension.
24. Rich Cherry Cola on Voluminous Long Hair

Let’s end big! Rich cherry cola on long thick hair is stunning. All that color with lots of volume and movement. People will literally stop you on the street and ask about your hair, I’m not even kidding.
